A forum was held yesterday at Sorsogon State University, where Prof. Marco Lagman highlighted the crucial role of organic farming in combating climate change. He discussed the Laws and Policies on Climate Change, emphasizing how organic practices not only enhance soil health and biodiversity but also reduce greenhouse gas emissions and dependency on chemical inputs, leading to more sustainable and resilient food systems.
Meanwhile, Maki Mercolita, Policy Advocacy Officer of CCNCI, urged the youth to actively engage in discussions on climate change and advocate for Agroecology, promoting it as a key strategy for both climate change adaptation and mitigation in the face of the global climate crisis.
